BART (Bioluminescent Assay in Real-Time) is a novel reporter system, exclusive to ERBA Molecular, which is designed to be used with isothermal nucleic acid amplification technologies - primarily as a tool in molecular diagnostics.
ERBA Molecular has developed a proprietary real-time molecular detection reporter system that is seamlessly integrates with isothermal amplification processes. The simplicity of BART allows the simplest ever readers for real-time closed tube assays as BART does not require any labelled DNA probes or fluorescent dyes. This is a major break-through as molecular diagnostics are typically associated with complexity and expense.
The BART output is a highly distinctive signal enabling simple automated calling of results and can system can be used in the presence of magnetic beads. It can also be used with user friendly coloured sample tubes and also works with the solid phase strip based NAT assays
BART causes the sample itself to emit light when a test result is positive, making the technology extraordinarily simple to implement. What's more, as the BART assay emits plenty of light, there is also no need for highly sensitive light detection apparatus :– the result is the simplest, most robust hardware solution for real-time molecular diagnostics ever developed.
