Cambridgeshire, UK, 4 September 2014 ... Lumora, a provider of state-of-the-art molecular diagnostic products for the clinical and industrial market, has expanded its commercial partnership with Biogal Galed Labs, a global leader of veterinary diagnostic solutions.
The expanded partnership will see Lumora’s diagnostic technology used in Biogal’s new flagship technology, PCRun™, which allows veterinary professionals to diagnose acute infections earlier, when compared with standard serology tests.
PCRun™ uses Lumora’s novel diagnostic technologies, such as BART (Bioluminescent Assay in Real Time) which have been proven to significantly improve molecular diagnostics. The development and launch of PCRun™ follows the signing of a licencing deal between Lumora and BioGal in 2013.
Laurence Tisi, CEO of Lumora, said: “This development highlights the breadth and depth of Lumora’s technologies in providing novel diagnostic solutions across a range of markets. BART is an excellent platform technology with an extremely wide range of uses for the diagnostic market, and we are extremely pleased to be collaborating with Biogal in identifying new uses for it.”
Hayden Jeffreys, Commercial Director at Lumora, added: “The deal with Biogal shows the potential for Lumora’s technology beyond the traditional clinical markets. With the technology already being used by 3M for the detection of pathogens in food, this expansion into the veterinary market highlights the versatility and strength of Lumora’s technologies.”
